Tip of the Week

Worried about getting stranded if you get a flat and are too far away from a Tesla Service Center?

For $50 this is a pretty good insurance policy:

Episode 29 - Vegan Butt

00:0000:00

Had a chance to meet a lot of local Tesla owners at a VIP party for the grand opening of the new Cherry Creek Mall showroom. If you get an invite for a Tesla event in your area... GO! Tesla people rock. And the catering is amazing, as you would expect!

News

Tesla has made some changes to the Premium Package for Model S and Model X. The lighting upgrade and air suspension are now standard equipment. But, if you're a fan of rich Corinthian leather you'll be disappointed.

There are NO options for a leather interior! So, vegans rejoice.

Chevy Bolt is not flying out of showrooms. Less than 1,700 of the "Tesla Killers" sold in June. A far cry from the 400,000 people who put down a deposit on Model 3.

How about camping in your Tesla? With the rear seats folded down an air mattress fits perfectly. And you can keep the air conditioning (or heating) on all night long with minimal battery hit. There's an iOS app that will check the HVAC every two minutes and make sure it stays on, up to 24 hours. Check the thread at Facebook.

Episode 28 - A Snobby Car?

00:0000:00

Met a guy at brunch today and his wife thinks Tesla is a "snobby person's car." And she drives a Mercedes! Whaaaa?

News

The driver of a Tesla that was involved in a rollover crash this weekend says he engaged Autopilot and the car accelerated, causing the crash. A lot of holes in the story so it will be interesting to see the car's logs if Tesla releases them.

Make sure "Avoid Toll Roads" is not checked and have it re-route. It may just be planning a route that doesn't take toll roads... which may be tough if all the bridges into Canada are toll roads!

Episode 27 - Happy Birthday Elon

00:0000:00

Between no internet and traveling for the 4th I didn't get a show done last week. BUT, I had a great time while my buddy did a 24 hour test drive on a Model S in Seattle!

Tip of the Week

Joining my buddy on his extended test drive reminded me: you may not know you can take a Tesla overnight!

Want to see how it fits in your garage? What's it like to Supercharge? Will your child's car seat fit?

After your test drive, ask if you can get an extended test drive. I know Denver let me and Seattle let him so I assume it's available everywhere. If not, tell them I said it's OK!
